Improve Air Quality and Heating & Cooling Efficiency with a DOC Air Exchanger
An air exchanger is the appliance responsible for expelling the humid and polluted air from your home or business and replacing it with cleaner air. The fresh air passes through this appliance where it is filtered and dispersed all over the house. HRV technology allows for fresh air, better climate control by helping to keep a temperature balance in the building and energy efficiency throughout your home or business.
Exchangers Provide Ventilation
Many buildings today are built with energy efficient windows, insulation and weather stripping keeping it airtight and less ventilated. Living or working in an airtight home or office space may seem efficient and economical, but it’s not. Airtight homes or office spaces limit the natural air moment, which can be inefficient and unhealthy. While opening a window does provide ventilation, the building’s heat and humidity will then be lost in the winter and gained in the summer impacting the indoor climate or energy efficiency and causing the building’s HVAC system to overcompensate.
Exchangers Provide Filtration
Air exchangers also have a filtration system built into them. As the humid air from the inside moves out, it passes through a filter that captures the dust, pollen, mold, and other pollutants. Air is also filtered when it is brought in from the outside, going through the same filters which will capture the same pollen, spores and pollutants that come from the outdoors. This ensures that those pollutants won’t be floating around in the air you breathe. This ensures a safer, healthier environment for your family to live in or for your employees to work in.
