Price Protection
DOC has three heating oil Price Protection Plans to choose from this heating season: two have a fixed price and the other follows the delivery price down, for a minimal fee. Below is a brief explanation of all three:
1) Fixed price prepay contract – with this contract, you can purchase as much as your entire seasons heating gallons or as little as the minimum of 350 gallons at the time you sign the contract. All of your deliveries will be priced at the “fixed prepay contract price” until your prepaid gallons run out or until the end of the contract, whichever comes first. Sign up for automatic delivery and we will also estimate all your deliveries so that you never have to worry about when you should schedule a delivery or if your tank will run out of fuel.
2) Fixed budget contract – with this contract, your payments are spread out over the months remaining until the contract ends in May and all deliveries will be priced at the “fixed budget contract price” until the end of the contract. You get peace of mind knowing your total costs for heating gallons for the year plus the benefit of spreading these costs into monthly payments(see chart below). Sign up for automatic delivery and take all your worries out of heating your home this winter.
3) Budget contract with downside protection – this budget plan has all the benefits of the fixed budget contract but offers the added benefit of downside protection. For a small per-gallon fee, if the daily posted price should fall below your contract ceiling price on the day of your scheduled delivery, the delivery will be billed at the lower price. With downside protection you will always be guaranteed the lowest possible price for all your heating gallons.
